Is not afraid to be perfectly fortright in her support for LGBT equality. When she was surprised by a question regarding marriage equality on TV, she responded without hesitating that she supports marriage equality.
Her district includes UC Irvine, where LGBT equality is a major issue and which provides a strong base for moving toward equality for everyone.
Her support for LGBT equality is a natural extension of her lifelong support for groups like Women in Leadership and the National Women's Political Caucus.

Born and raised in Southern California, Melissa Fox has been deeply involved in the communities of Orange County since she returned to the area after law school. As a lawyer specializing in advising and representing small local businesses, Fox has been a strong advocate for job creation and responsible immigration policy to ensure equal opportunity for all Orange County residents. She has also been involved in many community groups and organizations, including the Orange County Park Ranger Reserve, the National Women’s Political Caucus and Women in Leadership. Fox is also the founding President of the Orange County chapter of California Women Lead, which works to empower women to succeed. She is also outspoken in her support for public transportation investment, responsible economic growth and improving California’s education system. Fox has been endorsed by a wide variety of national and state-wide organizations, including the California Labor Federation, California Federation of Teachers and Planned Parenthood.
